About

Lincoln Hilton’s remarkable journey from receiving a practice chanter at age 11 to leading Haileybury's world-renowned Pipes & Drums program is a testament to his dedication, talent, and vision. By the age of 16, Lincoln was already an accomplished soloist, earning titles such as Young Australasian Piper of the Year and performing as the lone piper at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Australia. His passion for teaching began early, and over a decade ago, he took the reins of Haileybury’s piping program. Under his leadership, the program has grown from just 40 students to hundreds of learners, with a waitlist of eager students hoping to join the award-winning team. Lincoln has built the Pipes & Drums program into a powerhouse, culminating in a historic World Championship win, making Haileybury one of the few Australian bands to achieve such a prestigious title.

As the Director of Pipes & Drums at Haileybury, Lincoln's dedication to excellence has transformed the band into a global force. His ability to inspire students and foster a strong sense of discipline and camaraderie has created a thriving culture of performance and success. Beyond competition, Lincoln ensures his students have well-rounded musical experiences, performing at over 100 events a year. His relentless commitment to innovation is also reflected in his groundbreaking work with Modern Piping and the revolutionary Hilton Chanter, ensuring that his students not only master traditional piping but also push the boundaries of what’s possible, setting a new standard for the future of bagpiping.
